The Presidents Message November
2001 The
school fair, one of the major milestones of the year has now come and gone.
The fair was a tremendous success, and all of you who helped set-up, work
the fair booths, and take down the fair booths deserve a big Thank
You. A special thanks goes out
to Todd Roser, Steve Hebert, Roy Labourdette, and Peter Comeaux.
These guys worked tirelessly to make sure that we had everything we
needed to make our part of the fair a success.
Todd and Steve handled the organization of the set up and take down of
the fair booths; great job guys this is the fastest I have ever seen this job
done. Roy handled the organization
of the road kill booth. Some of our
other members, or members wives who deserve special recognition at the road kill
booth are Armand Michel, Tim Durand, Donald Duzac, Bill Hightower, Rick Obrien,
Jerry Madere, Charlie Giraud, Jerry Giroir, Kim Labourdette, and Melanie Junker,
and many others. Peter Comeaux
handled the nickel slide booth like he invented the game.
Also, thanks to all of our members who signed up to work a shift or a
double shift, because of your efforts our job was made easy.
We also had a great Family Donut Mass on October 14th.
Good job Donald; We loved the bignets.
As you can see the success of the fair and other events was a combined
effort of many talented and dedicated members of our club.
This is what makes our club so special and my job as President of this
club a real pleasure. Thanks to everyone. Now
for the details of our plans in November and December.
The first big event in November is our regular meeting.
Please make plans to attend the meeting on Wednesday, November 7th
at 7:30 PM in the cafeteria. Last
year the attendance at this meeting was very low, lets make this year a
record. Please remember to pay your
dues if you havent done so, and put a down payment on your $10,000.00 raffle
ticket. Remember, according to our
by-laws, dues have to be paid by this November meeting.
We may need to have a work party this month to take care of cleaning up
our river road locker. We will let
you know the date of the work party at our meeting. The BIG EVENT in December is
our Family Christmas Brunch, on December 16th.
This is a great family event when we go to church at 11:00am and then go
to the cafeteria for a brunch with the whole family. We will also set up a Christmas Tree in the schoolyard at our
December 5th meeting. If
you have any extra Christmas Tree Lights please bring them to the November
meeting and give them to Steve Hebert. As
you can see our events slow down a little in November and December because of
the holidays, but pick up again at the beginning of the year.
I wont be able to attend the November meeting because I will be out of
town, so Hans will step in to run the meeting.
I want to make sure that everyone knows how much I appreciate all of the
hard work that was put into making the fair a success and I hope that all of you
have a great Thanksgiving. Remember:
We Work Hard, Play Hard and Pray Hard. Paul
