Well
one down and two to go. The St.
Catherine of Siena 2002 fair is now over. What
a great turn out. It was really
great to see a lot of new faces coming out and working to get things set up and
taken down. Everyone was concerned
about the construction; it turns out it was a blessing in disguise; it looks
like we will be keeping the lay out just like it is; the flow was great.
The Road Kill Booth had record sales again this year; great job Roy!
There are so many people to thank, I can not even start naming names.
Thanks to everyone who came out to help, and if you could not make it
maybe we will see you at the next event. Todd
Roser did a great job organizing the set up of the fair; many thanks Todd!
Our next two big
events will be the $10,000.00 Raffle and Jazz Festival.
These two events make up the biggest portion of next year’s budget.
We really need everyone to come together and support these events.
Get
your raffle ticket early, get three extra tickets and bring them to work and
start some pool (cow) tickets
Membership is up around 240, still a ways to go for our goal of 300.
Bring a new member to the meeting; lets get that magic number.
Remember to bring your membership cards to the November meeting.
The clubs by-laws require a 100% membership check at the October meeting.
Since our October meeting was the hurricane meeting we will be checking
for membership this meeting. We
will have a table set up to check cards. If
you have paid and not received you card Don Wheat will have them at the meeting.
If you have not paid he will collect and issue you your card.
We apologize in advance if we get anybody angry when we check for cards
but it is in the by-laws.
The year is now
in full swing. Check the newsletter
for all the upcoming events. Membership,
Membership, Membership, Participation, Participation, Participation, these two
things go hand in hand. Please come out and have some fun and help St. Catherine
grow. It’s up to us to keep our
school and parish strong. It was
really great to see all the participation at the Fair.
