President’s Message

December 2001

Well, another Thanksgiving is in the record books and I hope that everyone took some time out to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for.

Christmas is right around the corner and we have a number of events scheduled for the Men’s Club in December.

On December 1st and 2nd, we will have a table at the Parish Ministry Fair, which is a parish wide rush party for all of the ministries.  If anyone would like to help us man the table at the ministry fair please give me a call.  My number is 835-3293.

The next big event in December is our monthly Men’s Club Meeting.  The date of our meeting is Wednesday, December 5th at 7:30 in the cafeteria.  At this meeting we will hang our traditional Christmas Tree in the playground.  We would appreciate any donations of tree trimming decorations that you may have.

Our Family Christmas Brunch will take place on December 16th, 2001.  The brunch will be held in the school cafeteria after we attend the 11:00am mass as a group.  This is a very special event that the whole family can enjoy.  Please plan to attend this event.

The Alter Society will Decorate the Church for Christmas on December 17th, 18th and the 19th, at 6:00pm.  We have traditionally helped the Alter Society in decorating the church and they really depend on us to get the job done.  Check your calendar and we will have a sign up list at our meeting.  Please make plans to help decorate the church during one or all of these nights.

Due to the holidays our December Board meeting will take place in the cafeteria on Wednesday, December 19th at 7:30pm.

Please make plans to put a deposit down on your $10,000.00 Raffle ticket before they are all gone.  Please help us promote the sale of these tickets to friends and family.  Remember that this is one of our major fundraisers of the year and we should all support this event.

An event to look forward to at the end of January, is the Parish Blood Drive.  This year we will co sponsor the blood drive to benefit a child of one of our members who has leukemia.  We will have more details in January, but get those veins ready to pump some blood.

I want to wish you and your family a Merry and Holy Christmas, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Keep Christ in Christmas

Remember, “We work hard, play hard, and pray hard.”
